The FIP Community
The global FIP community is one of the most remarkable patient advocacy communities in veterinary medicine. Thousands of families sharing knowledge, experience, and mutual support.
Why community matters in FIP
When GS-441524 first showed efficacy in research settings, it was not commercially available or officially licensed in most countries. The treatment reached cats worldwide largely through owner communities — families sharing supplier information, dosing protocols, and monitoring experience with each other.
This community-driven knowledge sharing saved — and continues to save — thousands of cats. It remains the fastest and most practical source of treatment information for many families, complementing (not replacing) veterinary guidance.

How to get the most from these communities
Read the pinned posts and files before asking questions — most communities have excellent compiled resources
When asking for help, include: cat's weight, FIP form, current symptoms, bloodwork results, and days on treatment if applicable
Be specific about which antiviral and brand you are using or considering
Cross-reference advice with your vet — community members are knowledgeable but not medical professionals
Once your cat is cured, consider giving back by answering questions for families just starting
